Some New Events

Some new events in my life. The first one being that I got this huge show at the world cafe live in philly playing jazz music. This is by far the biggest and the most prestigious show have ever played. Some the songs we will be playing are some assorted Christmas song, Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra, girl from Ipanema by Stan Getz, and Valerie by Amy Whinehouse. It is a 30 minute set and this band it probably the best band and the most challenging band I have been in. The second big event in my life is I got accepted to the University of Maine. Although I might not go to this college, it still is a great opportunity and defiantly a really great feeling to be accepted to a college. Overall I can't wait for the challenge ahead.

Fake News

DISCLAIMER: Please do not take this story seriously IT IS A FAKE NEWS STORY
Today, we are here to discuss the facts, Texas is a third world country. Every year texas has tried to succeed from the union, but this year they finally have. They petitioned congress and now become its own country. We have always known this would happen but now it finally has. Sadly though there have already been reports of mass immigration from texas to the rest of the united states because of this decision. The only people who we still be living in Texas is the Bush family and the Cheney, Lance Armstrong, Sandra Bullock, and the Dallas Cowboys. The good thing is that the Cowboys can’t make it to the super bowl because they are not part of the country. We have also gotten news from inside the new country from our special texas correspond Beau Beaufort. He is quote as saying “ Here in Texas we are glad to succeed, even though we are official won of the poorest countries in the world. We are also experiencing won of the worst famines in our history we have seen a massive increase in crime and death in our great new nation.” Sadly Beau was shot and killed a few moments after he gave that quote.
Texas has also currently renamed itself Texlandia and its national animal is the donkey. This is one of the most controversial moves in the history of the world. In the US capital they are still discussing whether or not to invade the new country. It is scary to think that we will have another civil war. Texlandia is already been in contact with the UN to get humanitarian aid, although the US is blocking the borders in the new country. Overall most countries in the world have already created an embargo with the newborn country. Texas will always be Texas, there's no stopping this redneck paradise from prosperity.

Looking back on the Election

This years election is just crazy. I can't believe that Trump actually one, everyone had predicted Clinton. For me I feel like Trump could be ok or crash and burn and nowhere in between. As seen in Glendale blog we have to give him a chance. Although I say this though my teeth cause I absolutely hate everything about Donald Trump, expect for his stance on marijuana. This just goes to show that the US is unhappy with the political situation right now and they want a more racist Ronald Reagan. Hopefully this will only last 4 years and hopefully this is not a huge dramatic change from Obama, but I have a feeling it will be. As the famous Micheal Moore once said "It is the final stand of the Angry White man," I believe this to be true . I also believe that if the DNC nominated Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary Clinton it would have been an entirely different election. Overall no matter what we will have Donald racist, sexist, money grabber Trump as our next President. As much as I hate that fact I don't have a choice. If you disagree with me or want to give your own opinion in the comments section below. Looking forward to seeing what you guy say, Jeremy Cleghorn.

My Try at Creative Writing

This week I will be trying my hand at creative writing. So lets start. The story begins in a time where Elephants ruled the earth, they had taken to power because of the human race's complete inability to stop climate change. They had enslaved the human race, and put them to work fixing climate change. There leader was Al Gore, once human; now Elephant human hybrid. He had been in charge of the Elephant race for to long, the humans needed to step up and that is when our hero Jon, a young man leading a rebellion against the evil elephant tyranny. He was the only one that could stand up and unite the people. When he set up attacks on the Elephants nothing seemed to work, until march 29 2080 he finally found the break he sought for. This happened during their plan to capture Al Gore. The rebels had set up a snare with a pile of Bananas as bait, but at the last second the rope of the snare broke and Jon had to fix the rope and time it just right to snare Al Gore. This took a great amount of concentration, and thankfully they caught the Elephant leader. By doing this they freed the Human Race. Thanks guys for listening.

The Election

We are now 5 days from the day our country will experience one of the biggest changes in 8 years. The years under the Obama administration we have seen a better economy, universal health care, low unemployment, and reopened trade with Cuba. Although Obama has his critics, he has been a good president for our current country. However how will these new candidates compare to Obama? To break down the two candidates, Hillary Clinton is the democratic candidate, who wants to keep the majority of Obama's ideals and plans, but she has her faults with the email scandal and the Clinton foundation controversy. While Trump on the other hand wants to build a wall, rip up the North American Free Trade Act, and stop immigration entirely. Trump also has his extreme faults that for most candidates would crash and burn if this was any other election, for example promoting racism, being extremely sexist, and having at least a dozen rape allegations against him.
Overall you have probably figured out who I am supporting, but I don't want to offend any one, the strange thing is in America we can not talk about these thing without the conversation getting out of control. Well anyway thanks for listening feel free to comment with your ideas about this election.

My Haunted House

This week I have been given a topic to write about, and the topic is a experience I had at a Haunted House. The problem is I have never really been to a real Haunted house I have only made them. In 8th me and my brother decided that we were going to make a haunted house.  The process is very tiring but it is well worth it. First you have to hang up black plastic sheeting, then you have to the add the scary bits. For example the blood and the grave stones. After you have finished that you have your own haunted house. Scarying people is by far the most fun you can have on Halloween. For example my friend would jump out of some of the black plastic and scare people to know end. While I would scare people by hiding inside the black plastic and hold out my hands and touch them as they went go by. Overall this is one of the shining moments of my childhood and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

A Vacation to Remeber

Today I want to talk about my vacation this summer. This summer I went on vacation to Europe to see friends and family and to overall just have fun. First we went to visit my granddad in Reading England. After we spending 3 days in England with my granddad, we caught a flight to Paris. We Spent 3 days in Paris visiting the Eiffel tower, the Louvre, and the Sacre Coeur to name a few. After staying in Paris for 3 days, my brother and I went to are friends apartment in Fountianbleu Paris. We spent a week embracing French culture with a truly great friend, this was probably my favorite part of the whole vacation. After a week in Fountianbleu, we reunited with our parents and caught the Eurostar train to Germany visit my Dads friend who lives in a small village called Neufarm. We spent 2 days in the village, attending his villages festival where we had incredibly fresh sausages and meat and even better beer, their we met a wealth Scottish man who bought me, my brother, and my dad many drinks. After staying in the village, my parents rented a car and we traveled around Bavaria and even Austria, to see the Alps. After a couple of days in the Alps, we traveled to Munich to see the BMW world and the BMW Museum, as well as the Dachau the concentration camp. After staying in Germany for a while we took a flight back to England. In England we visit lots of family, after 4 days in England we finally flew back to the states. This trip was amazingly fun I would not trade it for the world.

Being an Individual

I think this week I want to talk about what makes us who we are. This can be troubling to a lot of people my age. It was really hard to figure out who I was in the world it takes a lot of soul searching, but in the end I found myself again. It is really easy to get lost in what you want to be and not who you really are. The most important thing to remember is that you are an individual their is no need to be something your not. The best part about being yourself is you can dress how you want, act how you want and embrace your religion, gender or sexuality, you get to be you. It is the most important thing in life to respect and love your self ,and to have fun being yourself. Also don't just choose friends  because they are popular ,find friends who have the same ideals, morals, and someone you can trust. And remember to have fun that is the most important message of this entire post. Everyday just try and do something that you enjoy. Try to stay positive as well, even if you had a rough day try to find one part of your day that was enjoyable, and before you know it you will be think a little bit better about that day. And everyone always tells me that they are not good at anything, from experience this is completely wrong. Everyone on this planet is good a something maybe you just haven't found it yet. And always remember to stand up for what you believe and always for your own opinion don't take them from someone else. Sorry about this article being a bit preachy, but it is just something I need to talk about cause it is extremely important to remember to be who you are.

School Justice?

This week has been a rough week for everyone do to a situation that happened at school. On Monday, there was a situation were a student was hit by a teacher, but in the teachers defense the student was going through the teachers phone. After this happened, the student went to the office and told on the teacher. I was in the room when the incident occurred and I had no idea anything bad occurred. This means that we really don't know the extent of what actually happened, so it became a student vs. teacher debate. The police ended up getting called in and they determined that the teacher was in the wrong, so as of now the teacher has been forced to resign from the school. So today most of the school united and had a peaceful protest in the cafeteria in loyalty for the teacher. I did join in the protest to a certain extend, I stayed in the cafeteria until other students started hating on the school and on the student who told on the teacher. When students started doing this, it upset me because the protest was about loyalty and respect to the truth of the teacher, cause none of us really knew what happened between the teacher and the student. Overall, the school was not at fault. This is because the school was put in the position where they had no choice to make her resign. The fact of the matter is that it is a legal case, which means the police are in charge. This situation is something that should never have happen because it has affected a quarter of the school that has this teacher for their classes. This teacher will be missed and hopefully this does not destroy this persons career.

I would also like to thank Jon Tressler for listening to me rant all study hall about this. Cheers Jon!

My thoughts on Gun control

After a lot of consideration, I have decided to talk about gun control in America and what needs to happen. In the U.S. gun control is a very difficult subject to talk about. I personally do not see a need for guns in America, because guns on average kill 33,636 people per year. They seem to start more problems than they end. People always say that they need guns to protect themselves from the bad guys, but I feel this is untrue. People in the U.S. are put in fear by horror stories of murders and robbers killing them. This is somewhat true, but it is unlikely it will happen to you. Guns have gotten out of control with new technology. The creators of the bill of rights did not understand how incredibly powerful guns have become. This is because on the U.S. Market today, it is to easy to buy a gun without  a background check. This is called a private sale, this most commonly occurs at gun shows or even on Facebook, no background checks needed, just cash. This causes the wrong people to get a legal firearm without any sort of background check. If I was to come up with a plan to save America from the gun, I would: ban handguns from civilian use, I would also ban the use of assault rifles from civilian use, and I would implement strict background check policy that would prohibit private gun sales in the U.S.. This could help to save lives around the county. Thanks for listening to my long rant about this country, but things really need to change and if we don't talk about these difficult subjects nothing ever will truly change.

Some thoughts on Climate change

Today I would like to talk about climate change.  Climate change is a very serious topic on the global spectrum. The definition of climate change is a change in global or regional climate pattern.  The main cause is from the use of fossil fuels. Some of the common causes/sources are cars, cows, and the use of anything with fossil fuels. A lot of cultures around the world are trying to fight climate change with renewable energy resources such as wind turbines, solar panels and electrification of cars. Some countries such as Albania, Iceland, and Paraguay only use renewable energy sources. My Dad is even on the fight to combat climate change by bringing hydrogen fuel cells to the global market.  Another controversial plan is in the US with 20 high school students suing president Obama due to his lack of caring towards the plan for climate change. Overall Climate change is an extremely serious issue if we you don't make huge changes to our global intake of fossil fuels.

My thoughts on Brexit

This week I want to talk about Brexit. For me I think Brexit is one of the biggest mistakes in British history, this is because it has created a massive racial divide, created a economic down turn and separated UK from main land Europe. First to talk about this racial divide, ever since the Brexit vote Britian has become racist to anyone other than themselves. There are countless videos of British teenagers screaming at a Muslim man to get off the bus. We can not have this type of racial intolerance, all people on this planet are just as equal as everyone else, no matter your religion, race or gender.  It doesn't give anyone the right to be hateful towards you or anyone else. Next lets move on to the economic down turn, since Briton's removal from the EU there has been mounting evidence of economic suffering.  This is extremely troubling for the UK's industry. And finally a breaking from the main land; if Britain does go though with leaving the EU all British citizens will only be UK and will no longer be able to live and work in the EU. This is troubling for me especially because I can no longer live and work in the EU, I would have to get a work visa. Overall the whole situation is very troubling to all UK Citizens who voted to stay. They just cant believe that this small island nation could make such a big mistake.

Car Accidents

As posted in my first post I got in a car accident last spring. If you go to NCHS you might remember but I will explain it from the beginning so every one knows what happened. Heres the story, I was driving out of school and an old man blew a stop sign and ti-boned my car, causing my first car (1999 VW Passat) to be totaled and left me a hysterical wreck. The fire department came along with the police and they determined that I was not at fault and sent me on my way. Later that day I spent hours on the phone with my insurance trying to describe what happened. After talking to the insurance we were given a rental car and told to go find a new car. Finding a new car  isn't as easy as in looks especially when your budget is 3000 dollars. It took six weeks of searching through used lots and car auctions searching for the perfect car, eventually we found it, a 2002 Honda CRV. Finding a car has not been the only problem, my health has also been a factor. Specifically my back, ever since the accident I have been having significant back pain, which has put me through physical therapy twice a week and has prevented me from playing soccer this year. Although this seems bad I am getting better everyday and I hope to have my health back soon. My advice for dealing with a car accident is to not be in one, drive safe!

Something about me

I have been thinking a lot about how to really start my blog with and I have decided to tell you a little about myself. So lets start, I am 17 years old and I go to Newark Charter School as a Senior. I live with my Mum, Dad, Brother and a lively black lab. A little bit about my heritage; I am an English  and american citizen because i was born in the U.S , but my Dad was born in England, so I make a lot of trips across the pond. On to hobbies, probably my biggest hobby, that I will mention throughout this blog a lot, is I am a huge guitar player and music nerd. I play lots of different shows around Delaware and Pennsylvania and it is probably the biggest part of my life. I use to play soccer around this time of year, but sadly I have been grounded because of a car accident that left me with a bad back, but don't worry I am going to therapy. For my music interest I pretty much listen to anything that catches my ear. Thanks for listening
